On December 4, Maria D’Onofrio, Secretary General of the CCIG was invited to intervene at the 101st Council Meeting of the International Catholic Education Office (OIEC), which was held in Geneva on December 4-5, 2024. 

During her intervention, Maria presented the Universal Periodic Review and the opportunities that this UN mechanisms provides for enhancing human rights implementation on the ground, to 33 participants from several countries, including Angola, Australia, Belgium, Benin, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Equatorial Guinea, Haiti, India, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Philippines, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Participants expressed their appreciation ensuring that CCIG contribution provided a solid basis for them to progress in engaging with the UPR.
