In accordance with its goals, the CCIG has continued its commitment to human rights awareness-raising through the organization of webinars and online events. This year, following the resumption of in-person meetings, the CCIG hosted an informal discussion with Msgr. Héctor Fabio Henao, delegate of the Episcopal Conference of Colombia (CEC) for relations between Church and State and former Director of Caritas Colombia. The discussion took place on October 14 on the CCIG premises.

Organized by Caritas Internationalis, the meeting was an opportunity for NGO participants to learn about the current human rights situation in Colombia. For years, Msgr. Héctor Fabio Henao has participated on behalf of the Catholic Church in the peace negotiation processes which led to the 2016 Peace Accord in Colombia. This discussion was an excellent opportunity to strengthen the connections of the CCIG’s global human rights network.
