On Monday, June 29th, CCIG released its 2025 Annual Report. This report, which marks the 75th anniversary of our founding, shows that human rights advocacy is not abstract work but a concrete, sustained effort to ensure that the voices of the most vulnerable reach the international community.
In the face of conflict, polarization, and environmental degradation, the CCIG will continue fostering dialogue, strengthening NGO capacities, and advocating for human rights, ensuring that human dignity remains central to global discussions. This past year, CCIG supported children’s rights defenders in Ghana and Kenya, who denounced the exploitation of children in mining, reaffirmed the importance of women’s representation and participation in decision-making, and defended the dignity of indigenous and rural communities. Interventions such as these demonstrate how training and accompaniment of local partners can translate into effective local and international advocacy.
In addition, we look forward to continuing to make the CCIG a space of solidarity, where CCIG members and partners can share their know-how and look for common solutions to the shared challenges of our times. In 2025, the CCIG attended several meetings and UN sessions on pertinent topics. The sharing of relevant information on CCIG website contributed to supporting the collective efforts of civil society actors in addressing global human rights and environmental issues. Through these communication and outreach efforts, the CCIG provided insights, best practices, and awareness-raising resources to support advocacy and capacity building activities for international NGOs and local human rights defenders.
Regarding the full spectrum of CCIG’s activities, CCIG President Budi Tjahjono wrote, “in its 75th year, the CCIG stands not only as a witness, but as an active shaper of history. Our work this past year shows that when civil society is empowered, when local voices are heard, and when solidarity guides action, meaningful change becomes possible. The challenges ahead are immense, but so too is the collective strength of those committed to justice.”
The CCIG team sends a heartfelt thank you to all those to worked with us throughout 2025, and to human rights defenders around the world for their service to make human rights a reality for all.
